LDP Program Mentor

LDP Program Mentor | After-school Leadership Development Program

Status: PT: Hourly /Non-Exempt

Reports to: LDP Program Director

Salary: Minimum - $17hr commensurate with education, experience, and certifications

About HOPE Farm

HOPE Farm's ministry and mission are to serve young fatherless men ages 5-18 through an after-school program where we introduce our participants to a life governed by belief in Christ and provide an opportunity to be mentored by adult Christian men.

Job Summary

Responsible for planning and implementation of spiritual and physical enrichment. Partner with the Program Team to provide necessary behavioral intervention, character building, tutoring, and supplemental education programs at HOPE Farm. Mentors must establish a relationship with the boys that allow them the opportunity to build trust, grow in faith, character and track the progress of each student's development success. HOPE Farm weekly goals are created for each student to address student-specific needs. Planning and organizing of all content should be based upon Luke 2: 5 2 pillars: Wisdom, Stature, Discipleship & Friendship.

Job Responsibilities

• Love God more than anything! Love others! Be a disciple-making, disciple!
• Deliver and supervise program/activities for HOPE Farm, Inc., participants in the following categories:
• Bible Study
• Stewardship create a roster of activities to assist with campus maintenance on grounds, dining hall tasks. Assign tasks to teams on a rotating schedule.
• Academic support work with Academic Specialists. Serve as tutor or homework help resource during afterschool study periods.
• Recreation Serve as a skills coach, referee during sports and recreation activities.
• Leadership development/Social skills: Including, but not limited to Public speaking, Etiquette, Study skills, the 16 Social Skills from Boys Town, the 4 Pillars of HOPE Farm, Financial literacy, etc.
• Ensure that all program activities are safe and staffed; Report any accidents/incidents immediately to Operations Director and follow all protocols.
• Meets regularly with Program Director to review individual student progress.
• Meet with mothers, caregivers, teachers/principals on behavior/performance concerns.
• Coordinate and facilitate KAA camp trips and other overnight or extensive events.
• Coordinate volunteer staffing with Academic Coordinators
• Act as a backup driver for after school pick-up
• Track student progress, provide qualitative as well as narrative reports, public presentations, newsletters, or fund-raising initiatives
• Represent HOPE Farm Inc., as needed at community, fundraising, or special events on/off-site.
• Provide needed data as specified by CNM, executive team, or as directed by Program Director.
• Maintain restroom & dining supplies; Request supply order as needed (Cutlery, plates, napkins)
• Other duties as directed by Program Director

Required Skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect privacy and build trust; yet establish clear boundaries
• Empathetic and non-judgmental; culturally sensitive
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills, Office Suit, etc.
• Comply with HOPE Farm, Inc. policies re: professionalism and confidentiality and model behaviors consistent with HOPE Farm Inc., values

• Some weekend and/or evening hours are required for special events

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED, * Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or recreation is preferred
• Experience in education, coaching, or youth programs is preferred
• Current CPR certification and basic first aid knowledge
• Current TX driver's license. Clean driving record must pass standards for coverage by company carrier
