HR Media & Co. is seeking an Executive Protection Officer for our client a national foundation to join their team

Position Title: Executive Protection Officer

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Job Type: Full Time

The foundation is headquartered in Dallas, TX. The Executive Protection Officer will be based in Dallas, TX. This is a hybrid role with a flex schedule that will require evenings, weekends, and frequent travel.

Position Summary

The Executive Protection Officer will ensure the safety and security of the Foundation's President/CEO. The Executive Protection Officer will provide executive protection for the President/CEO, including during domestic and occasional international travel, public appearances, and other high-profile engagements. In addition, the EPO will supervise the Security and Risk Specialist.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong federal security background and extensive experience in ensuring the safety and security of high-profile individuals, cybersecurity awareness, physical security strategy, high level of discretion and confidentiality, strong situational awareness, discretion, and crisis management skills.

Responsibilities:

Executive Protection & Security Operations

  • Provide executive protection for the President/CEO.
  • Conduct comprehensive threat and risk assessments, including advanced work at event venues, travel destinations, and other operational environments.
  • Plan and manage secure transportation logistics, including route planning, contingency protocols, and coordination with travel teams.
  • Maintain a low-profile, professional presence while proactively identifying and mitigating potential threats in real time.
  • Respond swiftly and appropriately to emergencies, including medical, security, or evacuation scenarios.

Team Leadership & Oversight

  • Supervise and provide strategic guidance to the Security and Risk Specialist, ensuring responsibilities align with overall safety and organizational objectives.
  • Support office security assessments, making recommendations for physical or procedural improvements.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential records of incidents, executive travel, and operational protocols.

Collaboration & Liaison

  • Coordinate closely with internal staff, venue security, local law enforcement, and other external partners to ensure seamless protective coverage and event planning.
  • Act as a liaison with internal departments such as HR and legal on matters impacting executive safety and well-being.

Cybersecurity Awareness

  • Ensure cybersecurity and secure communications protocols are upheld in collaboration with IT and leadership teams.
  • Advise executives on the best practices of digital security.

Professional Development & Intelligence Monitoring

  • Stay current on executive protection best practices, public engagement risks specific to nonprofit leaders, and relevant regional or national security developments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional security experience, including direct experience with high-profile executives required.
  • Previous experience in executive protection for public figures or organizational leaders required.
  • Cybersecurity and/or technology oversight experience is required.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record and valid license to carry a firearm (CHL/LTC) required.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, travel frequently and adapt to changing schedules and environments as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact professionally with high-profile individuals and the public.
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism, strong situational awareness, discretion, and crisis management skills.
  • Federal agency background strongly preferred.
  • Possession of or prior eligibility for high-level security clearances.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the foundation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $170, $200,000.00 per year
