Martin Automotive Group is seeking a General Manager for our El Monte Nissan dealership in El Monte, CA . The Martin Automotive Group started in 1985 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, when founder Cornelius A. Martin opened his first dealership, Martin Oldsmobile Cadillac. Since then, it has grown to over 12 dealerships across multiple states including Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, California, South Carolina, and Tennessee, employing over 400 individuals. Our family of award-winning dealerships represents some of the best automotive, motorsports, and motorcycle franchises such as Subaru, Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Ram, Chevrolet, Volkswagen, Audi, Honda, Kia, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, BMW Motorcycles, and Harley-Davidson. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with factories and lending institutions. Complete and review meeting notes with factory representatives and send to corporate. Notify supervisor of personnel changes at management level. Plan the facility’s operations for the upcoming year and report to the President. Review and recommend improvements for department forecasts and plans. Review and approve employee compensation plans (excluding Controller). Ensure department managers are training and supervising employees effectively. Oversee overall facility operations, function, and appearance. Communicate policies and procedures to employees and ensure compliance. Notify Controller and corporate office of legal issues promptly. Provide positive leadership to boost employee morale. Develop merchandising strategies and assist with advertising plans. Attend monthly fixed operations meetings. Ensure compliance with laws and programs such as OSHA, EPA, red flags, and information security. Monitor and safeguard company assets including vehicles, inventory, and equipment. Promote community involvement among dealership employees. Resolve customer complaints that management cannot resolve. Understand and comply with relevant federal, state, and local regulations. Complete and ensure OSHA training for staff. Participate in training as directed by management. Follow policies outlined in the Personnel Policy Manual and other corporate policies. Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years in sales and supervisory roles; general management experience preferred. Experience with import brands, Nissan preferred.
